Some download links are temporary. They work when a website creates them, then expire later. If a long download pauses overnight, the original URL may no longer be valid when you return.
Start with the original page
Check that the same file is still available. If you have a connected Chrome extension, pause the entry and choose Refresh link → Open page and wait. Start that same download from the original page so FID can receive the new link.
Or paste the replacement yourself
A manual direct URL works too. Paste it in the replacement field and decide whether you want the entry to resume immediately. This is useful when browser integration is unavailable.
The same name is not enough
The replacement needs to refer to the same file. FID checks saved parts and server information before continuing; if the source changed, safely restarting may be necessary.
