Pause, stop the queue, or exit: which one do you need?

You are about to join a call, leave your desk, or shut down for the day. FID gives you a few ways to change what happens next. The right choice depends on whether you want to stop current transfers, future transfers, or the entire app.

Pause when you want a breather

Pause a selected download to stop that transfer temporarily. Use Pause all when you need every active download to wait. Saved file parts remain available for resume when the source supports it.

Stop the queue when the current work can finish

Stop queue leaves active downloads running but prevents another queued item from starting. It is useful when you want the current file to finish without taking on more work.

Close the window when you just need the space

Closing the main FID window keeps the app in the Windows notification area. Downloads continue. Right-click the icon to see live download progress or bring the main window back.

Exit when you are done for now

Choose Exit from the notification-area menu to pause active work, save progress, and stop FID. You can reopen the app and resume later.
