Pause, resume and recover
Keep useful progress while making sure the source still matches.
Pause one or many downloads
Select a download and choose Pause, or use the progress window’s Pause button. For multiple downloads, select rows with Ctrl or Shift. Pause all pauses current activity and prevents the queue from starting more work.
Resume when you are ready
Select an entry and choose Resume. A download awaiting confirmation first opens the save-information dialog. Other eligible jobs return to the queue and start when a slot is available.
Saved parts are checked
FID keeps partial file chunks locally. It checks saved bytes and available server validators before reusing them. If the source has changed or a server cannot safely support continuation, the transfer may need to restart. Resume is not guaranteed for every website.
After closing or restarting
Closing the main window leaves FID in the notification area. Choosing Exit pauses active jobs and saves their progress. After an interrupted session, downloads restore in a safe paused state so you can review and resume them.
Keep partial data in place
Do not delete or move the partial download data while a transfer is paused. Removing an entry from FID removes its saved HTTP file chunks. Completed files are kept. See files and folders for cleanup behavior.
