Save videos and audio
Choose a specific video and a quality the source actually offers.
Use the specific video page
Paste the URL for an individual video into FID or the extension. A homepage, profile, feed, or collection may not identify the video you want. On a supported player, use the extension’s download button to select that video.
Choose a quality
The desktop defaults include Best available, 1080p, 720p, 480p, and Audio only. Available formats depend on the source. The extension can load a list of formats for the selected video; basic best-quality choices are available while the list is being checked.
Review the name and folder
The save-information dialog lets you choose where the result belongs. Video output can add the media identifier and final extension automatically to keep the filename accurate.
Read video progress
A video may transfer audio and video separately and then combine them. The progress window reports the current transfer stage. It does not display a separate counter for every video fragment, and an individual stage reaching 100% may not mean the final file is ready.
When a video cannot be downloaded
Make sure you can play it on the original website and that the URL identifies the exact video. If appropriate, enable browser-session support. Some sites, protected media, unavailable formats, and changing website behavior are not supported. FID does not bypass DRM, paywalls, or access restrictions.
If FID says video downloads are unavailable, repair or reinstall a complete release with its video components. Download only content you have permission to save.
