All settings, explained
A reference for general, connection, file, download and browser preferences.
General
- Start with Windows: start in the notification area after sign-in.
- Toolbar labels: show or hide the text under toolbar icons.
- Start downloads automatically: controls the default choice for new download confirmation; it does not bypass the save-information dialog or confirm jobs on Windows startup.
- Show progress: choose whether to open progress for new downloads.
- Completion dialog: show the finished-file actions when a progress window is open.
- Confirm removal: ask before removing selected entries.
Connection

Files
Choose the default save directory, whether to group files and videos, and how to handle a duplicate filename: numbered name or error.
Downloads
Choose the default speed limit in KB/s. Zero means unlimited; the maximum setting is 1,048,576 KB/s. Set the default video preference to Best available, 1080p, 720p, 480p, or Audio only. The source decides which formats actually exist.
Browser integration
Enable the browser connection, automatic capture, video buttons and browser-session support independently. Use Browser help for the included guide. Browser preferences can take up to one minute to sync while Chrome is running.
When changes take effect
Most defaults apply to newly added downloads. The maximum simultaneous-download setting affects scheduling immediately. Existing jobs retain their individual options.
